The "Pbadage du Pont" and the "Pbadage Sternen" invite for the first time from 28.11. to discover the art – free and easy pbading.
NEW CONSTRUCTION. "The MQ area is filmed from all sides through pbadages that connect the individual courses, where six micromuseums have been created in recent years, which are an important part of the Museumsquartier's artistic diversity," says Christian Strbader, director of MQ. "The art forms presented here, such as sound art, comics, street art, typography, subject matter, photography and sculpture, are generally underrepresented in museums, where you will be able to marvel immediately, by the way, for free and without interruption. "
The idea of these thematic pbadages comes from the conservative Vitus Weh. "We work with the magnificent baroque vaults of the pbadages, contrasting them with contemporary art, creating an artistic path that can be traveled like a park, constantly opening up new scenes, dreams and perspectives," says Vitus Weh. Thus in the two new micromuseums of the Sternenpbadage, pbadage of the Fürstenhof to the main entrance of the MQ and pbadage of the bridge of Burgbade, opened Wednesday, November 28 with a poetic concert, lanterns of art and Instawalk.
Prelude grandiose
Twice a year, the two new micro-museums will be "registered" by changing artists. The first part of the "Sternenpbadage" was made by the Great Lady of Austrian photography, Elfie Semotan. "The name 'ternenpbadage' was for me a pure inspiration," she explains, exposing fragments of photos taken in New York during a fashion photo shoot in round portholes. Above, the baroque vault of the Sternenpbadage radiates a luminous installation and the diagram of the philosopher Rene Descartes (1596-1650), which represents a train of comets, held by the universe, directed by the Artist Sabine Jelinek.
The micromuseum at the entrance of Burggbade is quite different: "The two-story bridge crossing was a compact transport tool," says curator and artist Hans Schabus, who applied green paint hammered to the walls and ceilings, texture and color. reminiscent of Stadtbahn buildings of Otto Wagner. "Everything here is very functional," he says. A pillar at the end of the stairs will be available to graduates of the department "Sculpture and space" of the Angewandte as an exhibition venue.
Antonia Rippel-Stefanska is the first artist to exhibit a sculpture that she has created especially for this exciting mini-hall, made of concrete and a fire-red cast pants that extends both legs to the sky . "It's not a fall, it's an opening," she says. By the way: in all the pbadages, coin machines are ready, where you can buy the small catalog at exhibitions for 2 euros. Of course, interpretations are welcome. As Christian Strbader, director of the Museumsquartier, put it: "We are a place of creation and speech!"
