Crisis meetings between management, staff representatives and the union have not been as successful as expected. The fourth round of discussions on the planned restructuring took place on Wednesday. Workers' representatives had already made arrangements for weeks to plan benefits and place victims in other Mondi companies.

"After intense and difficult negotiations, a social plan for the 126 or so employees of Mondi-Bags in Zeltweg could now be concluded between the company committee, the union and the management," said Wednesday in a press release .
