The "god of football" and Munich world champion Bastian Schweinsteiger continues to defend his favorite sport and continues his unique career. The midfielder has agreed to extend the contract with the Chicago Fire Major League Soccer (MLS) until the end of the 2019 season.

The "American trip" continues

The 34-year-old has been playing for Chicago since March 2017, scoring seven goals in 55 games. In his first year, he led Chicago to third in the main round, before playing in the playoffs against the New York Red Bulls.

By 2018, however, it was not enough to go to the finals. This should change next year. "Let's hold a trophy, I believe in the club and I think we can become champions," said Schweinsteiger, who has just moved to the Lake Michigan metropolis.

Bayern legend wants to raise another trophy

Prior to his involvement in the United States, Schweinsteiger played from 2002 to 2015 for Bayern before settling in England for two years at Manchester United.
