The SPÖ needs more than a government of enemy image

Since the party congress Pamela Rendi-Wagner seems to be a substitute. The boss of the SPÖ has been in offensive mode since Saturday. No day goes by without another attack on the government. In the interview of oe24.TV, she calls Strache "Jakob cheap", accusing the government of cynicism. This undoubtedly raises the profile of the new boss of the SPÖ.

but: The Rendi turbo ignites (again) in the polls. In the question of Sunday and the Chancellor, SPÖ and Rendi stagnate.

The problem of reds: Only government criticism is simply inadequate. In the medium term, the SPÖ needs more than the "enemy image" of turquoise blue. This is enough for some net announcements at the convention, but the voters (see poll) are too few.

The FPÖ (and also the Greens) formerly acted in opposition "by setting a program" – and the government was partially directed to it. At the SPÖ, there is still nothing to see for the moment. The attempt to put the issue of affordable housing to the wall has failed (for now) – also because the proposal to remove VAT on rents has not really been thought in terms of content. The government is now able to ignore "SPÖ problems" until they are finally replaced by another topic.

Even with the minimum income currently comes from the SPÖ too little. Reducing the number of families with multiple children would be an imposed penalty.

The finer appearance Rendi-Wagner, the SPÖ (and the opposition in general) is doing well. But without content, this is not enough in the long run.
