Post-Chef is pursuing until now the unsuccessful search of a financial partner

The Austrian Post was able to slightly increase its sales and profits the previous year. The previously unsuccessful search for a successor for cooperation with the Bawag gives Georg Pölzl the position of CEO of the post, overvalued. Allegations that the Post has spied on their customers, he said yesterday at the annual press conference as a "bullshit".
He does not see that the Post Office is taking over the Austrian activity of the German postal subsidiary DHL in response to Amazon's entry into the parcel delivery sector. On the cost of agreement with DHL, Pölzl said that you had paid so much for the acquisition of infrastructure. DHL employees would be integrated into the post office and hired. A parcel delivery agent earns around 2,000 gross euros a month.
"Post well placed"
In any case, the majority-owned state-owned company is well positioned, Pölzl said. The best result in history was achieved and the ninth consecutive year saw an increase in profits, said the deputy general manager.
Operating profit rose 1.5% to 210.9 million euros and the turnover increased by 1% to 1.96 billion euros. In terms of parcels, Swiss Post grew by 11.5%, while the more profitable mail business continued to contract by 2.5%. The workforce remained at the level of the previous year with 20,545 full-time employees. This year, the Post intends to accept 180 apprentices.
The planned dividend increase of 1.5%, reaching a total of 140.5 million euros, defended Pölzl. The sum is only covered by free cash flow of 158.4 million euros. The state is the main beneficiary of the distribution, since the post belongs to 53% of the republic.
For the data business, said Pölzl, legal clarification is underway. Client anger was much less noticeable than would be expected from intensive media coverage. There have been a few thousand complaints. "What we are fighting for is that we are spying, it's bullshit," says Pölzl.
In addition, the negative representation of the lazy partner looking for a successor in Bawag relativized the boss of the post office. The financial sector accounts for only three percent of total revenue. The research continues anyway, on its own, would offer financial services "in any case".
Regarding the outlook, Mr Pölzl stated that the stability and profitability were the same as in previous years.
