Horror scene for children and parents Tuesday evening in Mauerbach (district of St. Pölten-Land): Arthur Altbart, 11, fell asleep on his way home from the Pressbaum school in Mauerbach. When he woke up, he was alone in the locked bus, everything was black and he was surrounded by tall firs.

Hysterically, having been kidnapped by fear, he called his mother. Despite 39 degrees of fever and flu, of course, she immediately went off in search of her boy. Police, firefighters and Mayor Peter Buchner have spun to help.

Bus always parked in the woods

After calming down, Arthur was able to describe a building in the distance and was finally found in the night bus parked to park in the forest. Shortly after, the bus driver arrived on the scene in disarray. But no one could blame him for a long time. He apologized to Arthur who was crying, the boy hugged the driver and forgave him immediately. "He is a very dear and sincere man, I do not want him to be in trouble – and certainly not before Christmas," said the 11-year-old.

Father is committed to drivers

The 60-year-old bus driver knows his name and the kids like him because he's always fun and polite. How he could forget the boy, he could not explain himself. Still Tuesday night, the company nevertheless delivered the opinion. "This can not happen – he's barely 60, he likes his trail, that he drives almost every day, as well as the kids and adults he's driving," says Heini Altbart, the father of Arthur.
