A tragic accident with fatal consequences occurred Thursday evening in Steinbach am Ziehberg (District Kirchdorf an der Krems): a 26 year old woman violently hit her car against a cow. The young woman was seriously injured.

The Schlierbacherin was traveling shortly after 19 hours with her car on the Ziehberg-Landesstrae, when she was suddenly warned by a driver coming from the other side with the help of turn signals. The driver had recently pbaded the place where the accident had occurred a few seconds later. As nine young cattle were suddenly in his lane, he wanted to warn the driver coming in front of the animals.

The 26-year-old may not have reacted to these warning signs. That is why the car crashed at full speed on the cow of about 500 kilos. The animal had to be thrown on the hood that was tearing the windshield and almost the roof of the car.

"We were alerted to a road accident with Aufrumarbeiten.When we arrived, we presented a very different picture," said yesterday the commander of the Steinbach am Ziehberg volunteer fire department, Rudolf Stadler, with 19 colleagues and rescue forces.
