Salzburg (APA) – After an attack on the kitchen ax on Sunday night in an apartment in Salzburg, the alleged perpetrator was arrested. His victims, two roommates, were injured and sent to the public hospital. This was reported by the Salzburg Landespolizeidirektion in a press release.

The attack occurred in the context of a conflict between two Afghan nationals over cooking and housework. A 22-year-old man grabbed a butcher's ax with a 17-cm long blade and hit the head of a 21-year-old roommate. Two people, who were in the next room, separated the two counterparts. He also injured other residents, a 20-year-old Afghan.

The abuser escaped from the apartment. The police began a search and arrested him shortly afterwards, although he resisted. The officials found him with a folding knife. Against him is determined due to an attempt at deliberate serious injury. He was transferred to the Salzburg Police Detention Center.
