Unions inform 100 endangered achievements over 100 years of social policy
Vienna (OTS) – 100 years of social ministry: a reason to celebrate. But under the current federal government, the 8-hour day was abolished, the social security system was destroyed and, with the reform of the minimum income support and emergency badistance, new attacks against the welfare state come from the Ministry of Social Affairs. As a result, many representatives of unions and chambers of work will not attend the "100 Years of the Ministry of Social Affairs" ceremony. Wolfgang Katzian, President of the ÖGB: "We do not want to celebrate the entrance of the Ministry of Social Affairs to the Ministry of Social Affairs." Well-known members of the labor movement have headed the Ministry of Social Affairs for 100 years, including Anton Proksch and the great politicians of the 1980s and 1990s, Alfred Dallinger, Josef Hesoun and Lore Hostasch.
