Controversy over the protection of the constitution: will Maaßen be released?

[ad_1]

The outgoing constitutional protection chief, Mabaden, can not change a special representative to the Federal Ministry of the Interior. According to information from DPA, he should now be released. The bottom is Maaß's farewell speech.

The head of the constitution, Hans-Georg Maaßen, was obviously removed from office and was not transferred to the Ministry of the Interior as planned as the special envoy. As the DPA reports citing security officials, the ministry is preparing the dismissal of Maaßens.

"Consequences necessary"

Originally, Mabaden, in a farewell speech, whose manuscript was distributed to the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), heavily criticized parts of the coalition and his controversial statements about the "hunt" at a mbadively defended protest again in Chemnitz. Maaßen also defended his statements at special sessions of the Parliamentary Committee on Intelligence Control and the Bundestag Committee on the Interior.

According to information from "Spiegel" magazine, he designed a plot plot. As a result, after his controversial comments on the events in Chemnitz, some members of the federal government focused on him, thus shattering the government.

Maaßen speaks of "radical leftists" in government

In the speech he made to the heads of the European National Intelligence Service in Warsaw on 18 October in the framework of the "Berne Club", he said that the DPA reported the existence of "forces of radical left "within the federal government, namely the SPD coalition partner. who had opposed the government from the beginning and who, in cooperation with opposition and media representatives, had tried to use it as a means of breaking the coalition.

In addition, according to the manuscript, Maaßen stated that he had always been poorly received by these forces, as he had always criticized the federal government's refugee policy. Maaßen expressed his thanks in the speech, according to "Spiegel" especially for the support of the Federal Minister of the Interior and leader of the CSU, Horst Seehofer.

The speech has been read since October 24 in the protected area of the intranet for all employees of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution.

In fact, Maaßen should be special advisor to the Minister of the Interior, Horst Seehofer, for the European and international tasks – at the same salary as today's leader of the BfV, at the rank of head of department. Obviously, this transfer will no longer be possible.

Heavy crisis of the coalition

Maaßen, because of his comments on the xenophobic riots in Chemnitz, evacuated his post as head of the Constitution. He had doubted the authenticity of a video. This sparked a serious coalition crisis in September, which almost led to the breakdown of the government alliance. The replacement of Mabadens following controversial statements at the head of the secret service and its promotion initially planned for a Secretary of State with a salary of more than 14,000 euros per month had caused great indignation. The three party leaders of the Grand Coalition – Angela Merkel, Horst Seehofer and Andrea Nahles – then had to resume this agreement.

"It's an impossible nonsense to beat, what we experienced there with Mr. Mabaden and the reactions to the fact that, if you make a mistake, you continue to promote it," said the vice president. CDU, Armin Laschet, at the ZDF. This style must end. "If there is always a follow-up, I think the Federal Minister of the Interior is certain to think about the consequences."
