Died and injured in a plane crash in South Africa

In South Africa, a man was killed and 20 others injured in the crash of an obsolete aircraft. As the rescuers have announced, the machine – a 1954 Convair – 340 – is crushed today after its launch in Pretoria for a test flight. The plane crashed about five kilometers east of the airport of the South African capital and thus damaged a factory.

Before the trip to the museum

The Convair-340 was a small airliner. July at the Aviodrome Museum in Lelystad, the Netherlands. The museum management commented "extremely shocked" about the accident.

The photos from the crash site showed that the machine had broken up into several parts. The paramedics helped recover the survivors from the wreckage and treated them at the scene of the accident. Firefighters were on duty to extinguish smoking debris.

According to a spokesman for the authorities, 19 detainees were on board. In the badpit, the pilot or flight technician died in the accident, he said. Still on the ground, two people were injured by the fall of the machine. In total, there were 20 wounded, some of the victims were seriously injured.
