The city council and the municipal police react to recent incidents at the "Feeling" disco in Wels in the district of Pernau. The operator intends to oppose the most severe of the measures that have been decided, namely the introduction of a curfew from 5.30 am to 2 am. Yesterday, at the round table, representatives of the city, security officials and head of the nightclub, Aladin C., appeared.

In 2017 and 2018, the city police documented 75 incidents related to "Feeling". The most common offenses included bodily injury, rape, theft, dangerous threats, substance abuse and badual harbadment.

Deputy Mayor Gerhard Kroiß (FP) and Councilor Peter Lehner (Vice-President) consider this accumulation a serious threat to public security. In addition to the curfew approach, enhanced police checks are announced on the entry and exit routes. The third point of the package of measures put in place yesterday is the prospect of unannounced factory inspections.

The "Feeling" operations manager, Aladin C., has agreed to reinforce the security personnel and extend surveillance at the car park. He also promised to modernize and extend CCTV. Against a curfew advance at 14 hours, the manager raised economic objections. If the local owner objects, as expected, the decision will be forwarded to the city senate. "There, I think the objections are rejected," says Kroiss.

"The security problems in this case weigh much more than the economic interests", agrees with the opinion of his coalition partner.
