The Roundtable on Dog Breeding, hosted by Health Minister Beate Hartinger-Klein (FP), and the Provinces of the Federated States in Vienna, ended yesterday.
For example, a study on the relationship between humans and animals should be commissioned, as well as a national registration of beginner dogs and training of uniforms for owners. "In principle, the breeding is the jurisdiction of the country. There are no considerations, the laws on the possession of dogs in federal institutions," said the minister after the round table.
The department head also spoke against a general request for a dog and a leash for all dogs. The holder should instead be prepared for preventive purposes.
At the federal level, federal states should create similar conditions in the future. Thus, the registration of dogs to be effigigiger in the future will be done nationwide. Until now, the owner of a problem dog can theoretically move to another state where no animal information is available.
The training of the holder before the purchase of an animal should have similar standards. Health Minister Hartinger-Klein has called the Styrian model of a legally prescribed dog driving license a "best practice model". Some might agree on a study of human-animal relationships. As soon as the results are available, the round table should be continued.
