Strong storms swept parts of the country on Tuesday. Especially on the night of Wednesday, it starts in Vorarlberg and then goes to Lower Austria and Vienna. Salzburg, Upper Austria and Upper Styria are the hot spots of the rain. Precipitation should then decrease only on Thursday night.
Up to one meter of fresh snow
And the rain in the valley is rapidly changing to snow in the highest climates. Above 2000 meters, fresh snow amounts between 40 and 80 cm are possible. On glaciers, one can even expect a meter of fresh snow.
