The former boss of the Greens, Eva Glawischnig-Piesczek, has expanded her area of responsibility within the Novomatic gaming group. Since June 30, she sits on the supervisory board of Novomatic's German subsidiary, Löwen Entertainment, confirmed the company at the request of the APA. Löwen Entertainment achieves a turnover of 579 million euros with over 450 gaming rooms in Germany and nearly 3,800 employees.
Novomatic took over Lion Entertainment in 2003. The Chairman of the Supervisory Board is Novomatic's CEO, Harald Neumann himself. In the past, former Chancellor Alfred Gusenbauer had already been a prominent former Austrian politician from Novomatic on the Löwen Supervisory Board.
In early March, Novomatic announced that Glawischnig would be responsible for corporate responsibility and sustainability as of March 1st. At that time, she described herself as a "responsibility leader" and wanted to deal with environmental and legal issues as well as responsible gambling for Novomatic. In the ranks of the Greens, severe criticism has been welcomed.
