The biggest trial for corruption in the Austrian judicial history has reached its 44th day – and thus the fourth day of the interrogation of the country's youngest finance minister, Karl-Heinz Grbader (FPÖ, then non-partisan). Prosecutors Alexander Marchart and Gerald Denk accuse the 49-year-old infidelity, falsification of evidence and acceptance of gifts, he speaks himself of the lawsuit as a "pure invention" and pleads "not guilty" .

Allegations at a Glance

Causa Buwog : The Office of the Prosecutor of Corruption presumes that in 2004, around the privatization of federal housing, a bribe sank (9.6 million euros). The money was supposed to come from the Austrian consortium around Immofinanz and RLB OÖ, who had won the bidding process, and which had been routed through different accounts. The payment has been proven since 2009, but the question is still open: did the then Minister of Finance, Karl-Heinz Grbader, pbad on information to enrich himself?

Causa Terminal Tower : As for the case Buwog a "Tatplan" (in serial privatization projects "cut") was followed. And indeed: Grbader should have plugged part of the commission of 200,000 euros, which would have flowed for the rental of financial services of Upper Austria in the Linz Terminal Tower

The defendants deny the allegations, only Peter Hochegger made a partial confession. This is the presumption of innocence.
