Green invests half of the budget in the election of Hofburg

VIENNA. The Hofburg election campaign in 2016 for Alexander Van der Bellen was a costly affair for the Greens

With 3.04 million euros, the federal party, which failed in the National Council elections the following year, invested half of its annual income in the campaign. The nine States Parties have provided an additional 1.7 million euros, as evidenced by the 2016 annual report.

With three million euros in donations, Van der Bellen proposes a budget of 7.9 million euros for the election campaign, his counterpart Norbert Hofer received the FPÖ 8.0 million euros.
