The 65-year-old pilot was an experienced pilot. After leaving for the Thurntaler in the Sillian municipality, he climbed to 1.45 am easy early. While flying over a ridge, however, it became turbulent. The glider inclined forward, so the 65-year-old with the aircraft two to three times in the air.
