A 35-year-old canoeist was rescued from the Baltic Sea near Usedom in the middle of the night. Police said that the man paddled to Greifswalder Goose to explore the island. He wanted to return to Usedom, where his family was waiting, after two or three hours.

The rescuers searched for the missing person with boats and a helicopter.
