The jury pronounced a verdict of guilty on Wednesday night. Samir S. (24) was sentenced to eight years in prison and Evrim B. (aged 38) to eight years in prison. Judgments are not yet final. The trial of the two suspected jihadists continued on Wednesday morning in the Graz District Court. The two men had to answer for the terrorist unification, the criminal organization and the formation of an anti-state bond. One of them found instructions for bomb explosives that an appraiser described as "fully operational".

The youngest of the two defendants was found in a search on a USB key indicating terrorist acts. An explosives expert has also investigated several bomb projects. "These are diagrams that represent basic electrotechnical circuits, and the standard circuits have been supplemented by electronic detonators to trigger a detonation," explained the evaluator. "All circuits are fully functional," said the expert at the judge's question, whether these plans could actually make bombs.

On the USB key was also a guide on how to explode an explosion with a mobile phone. "This is a manual for a remote version that works," said the expert. Another directive was the production of an explosive based on nitric acid, sulfuric acid and glycerin, as well as the production of napalm. The appraiser described the level of difficulty badociated with producing such a substance as "a normal dish, as he was cooking".

Witnesses repeatedly included men who were questioned as suspects or even in detention, as they also had close contact with the suspected Islamic State (IS) terrorist organization. One of them – he was interviewed because he belonged to a radical religious badociation in 2015 – repeatedly pointed out that he had withdrawn from all the activities. Since his brother "disappeared in Turkey", he only wanted "a quiet life". The prosecutor did not believe him so completely: "He joined the IS, they know it exactly," he convinced.

A verdict was expected for the evening, in the afternoon were still the last charged witnesses. (APA)
