More than 700 illegal immigrant children remain in United States custody, although family reunification was ordered Thursday (local time).
CNN and other media reported this. So far, 1442 immigrant families have found their children over five years old. According to CNN, the government stated that it had met the deadline
The remaining 711 families were not found or there were objections and "red flags" regarding reunification. The trigger was a decision that the government's practice of tearing families apart over the weeks and months is inhumane and unconstitutional.
The children were separated from their parents on the US border. The divisions were part of US President Donald Trump's "zero tolerance policy" aimed at restricting illegal immigrants to the southern border with Mexico. In a sort of recovery, Trump then ended the practice by decree. Illegal immigrant children should now be locked up with their parents.
