Hungarian climbers were surprised on Friday afternoon by the Chinese family: the twelve-year-old son and his father (58) wore only sport sandals, the 27-year-old girl had sneakers and a short rock on. Without equipment, tourists were stranded on the 270-meter Echernwald via ferrata in Hallstatt. The father dared not climb the so-called panoramic ladder with his son

"You could not read the warnings, so they climbed the via ferrata", says Dieter Eder relief Hallstatt mountain. He and his colleagues rushed to the via ferrata after the Hungarians rang the alarm. Mountain rescuers provided tourists with climbing harnesses and helmets. Then they took her to safety

The Chinese were not particularly shocked. The father was even proud that he and his children went in the middle of the climb. "A police officer who was there immediately summoned him," Berger Eder explains. This is not the first time that helpers have to rescue poorly equipped tourists: "Businesses accumulate. In the future we will put up more warning signs with symbols so that they include tourists who can not speak German. "
