Prior to the Russian-American summit, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Iran's presence in Syria during a visit to Moscow. Netanyahu was received today by Russian President Vladimir Putin before wanting to watch the World Cup semifinal stage between Croatia and England.
Israel would not tolerate Iranian troops at its borders, the prime minister said. He also reminded Putin that the Israeli army shot down a Syrian drone a few hours earlier.

The Kremlin boss will meet with US President Donald Trump in Helsinki on Monday (16.7.) Trump and his advisers will see how Israel is Iran's biggest problem in the Middle East, pushing Russia to limit the Iranian influence in Syria.
For Moscow, Tehran is a supportive partner to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad hardly influence the close relationship between Syria and Iran.
