"No result of the meeting of the Supervisory Board is worth mentioning," said a spokesman for the group Thursday evening in Ingolstadt. Previously, it was expected that Bram Schot, Audi sales director of VW subsidiary, be appointed to head the latter. The 57-year-old Dutch has been acting director of Audi since the arrest of managing director Rupert Stadler in June.

Group circles have been reported, some formalities are not yet clear. The decision could be made before Christmas.

Stadler retired from all positions in October. VW seduced BMW's purchasing manager Markus Duesmann in July; he was initially considered a promising candidate for the post of chief in Ingolstadt. But BMW does not release Duesmann until now, and he is still bound by contract for two years.
