Boulogne-Billancourt (APA / Reuters) – French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire has summoned Michelin's president, Jean-Dominique Senard, to succeed Carlos Ghosn, Renault's director jailed in Japan. Senard is a recognized leader in the automotive industry, Le Mayor told Sunday's Journal.
In addition, Michelin's boss showed that he could head a large industrial group and was aware of the social responsibility of his office. "It is now up to the board of directors to consider the nominations commission's proposals," added Le Maire. The government, Renault's largest shareholder, will have a say.
Ghosn has been in custody since 19 November in Japan. Reason are allegations that concern his role as a former boss of Renault's sister company, Nissan.
