Draft scheme approved Danube Bridge Mauthausen
DISTRICT PERG. Upper Austria absorbs more than 55% of construction costs. ÖBB action during the renovation of the old bridge
As planned, the Oberösterreichische Landtag decided last Thursday to finance the construction of a new bridge over the Danube at Mauthausen. The country will pay 55% of the construction costs of the bridge to be built 700 meters downstream of the existing bridge. The total cost of it is estimated at 125 million euros.
On weekends – Saturday 7 pm to Monday, 4 am – also for the first time is the lock of the weekend due to the renovation of the existing bridge in force. The rail connection between Mauthausen and St. Valentin is not affected by the lock. Therefore, in order to make the transition to the tasty railroad, the ÖBB starts a summer action on the Donauuferbahn. On weekends, only one ticket on this route is considered a day ticket. The promotion is valid until September 30 and is valid every Saturday and Sunday during this period. It is valid for all OÖVV individual tickets (full price, half price and reduced price) and for the ÖBB standard tickets, which are solved on the basis of an ÖBB Vortex card.
