Puigdemont continues to fight for a split
BARCELONA. The former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont, stuck in Germany since the spring, does not give up his fight for the independence of Catalonia.

He has now founded a new separatist movement. The National Crèche for the Republic is intended to unify the defenders of independence and to work for the secession of Spain.
At a ceremony in Barcelona, during which a manifesto was read, Puigdemont participated via a video connection. He invited all interested parties to join the movement: "We are stronger, if we can work all inclusive and united."
The political future of Puigdemont is uncertain: last week, the regional court superior of Schleswig opened the way for his extradition. However, he should be prosecuted only if he is suspected of embezzling public funds and not because of the rebellion, the main culprit of the Spanish judicial system. A judge in Madrid must decide what to do next
