Alexander Stubb, a leading European Conservative candidate in the European elections, threatened the ruling Hungarian nationalist party to sack the family of the Communist Party. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán "We must confess the values of the family of our party," said former Finnish Prime Minister Stubb at the "Germany editorial network". "If he does not, he has to leave the EPP, I have no tolerance for intolerance."
Stubb pointed out that it was "absolutely unacceptable", as Orbán restrict freedom of expression, badembly and study. At the same time, he defended Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) against criticism against them. We must put an end to "the illusion of a perfect European Union". He stressed that "the EU means permanent crisis management".
Stubb presents alongside CSU Vice President Manfred Weber as the main candidate of the EPP. In the middle of next week, delegates will vote for their first candidate in the European elections of May 2019 at an EPP Congress in Helsinki. The winner is likely to succeed as President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker.
