For weeks, the procedure within the U commission, which examined, inter alia, the decision of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution and the fight against terrorism (BVT) issued by the Regional Court Vienna's superior, was the same: first, the Constitutional Court Eduard Strauss questioned the defendant, in the first round for six minutes, in the other three and the last round a minute. At Goldgruber, however, MPs agreed to give the final round five minutes. Reason: some questions still need to be asked.
The Goldgrubers investigation has therefore completely irritated the prescribed four hours. And even after the marathon, the Secretary General told the media what he had said to the committee as well. In the case of the BVT case, he was content to perform his duties as a senior official of the Ministry of the Interior. After SPÖ-close's lawyer, Gabriel Lansky, sent him the anonymous (unproven) allegation package against BVT officials, his supervisor's responsibilities were reinforced, the newspaper containing allegations of criminal offenses and breaches of an obligation.
"No task to clean"
He dismissed the accusation that he should have "cleaned up" the ministry on behalf of the Home Secretary, Herbert Kickl (FPÖ). "The minister never told me to clean nowhere," said the official. In addition, the fact that he prepared the four witnesses who had their statements at the Office of the Prosecutor for Economic Affairs and Corruption (WKStA), the raid in late February in the protection of the state and four private addresses prepared only for interrogation, do not match. However, the official confirmed that he had met two witnesses, Ursula-Ria P., a former BAT staff member, and Martin W. P., former head of the BVT department, testified and spoke about his future.
Basically, Goldgruber, as he said, would not do anything in the causa. He had often thought about legal alternatives, but had always concluded that there was none. Pressure has been exerted on the WKStA, as stated a few weeks ago by ÖPP Minister of Justice Josef Moser, according to his own statements. This would not have been possible because he was not informed of the investigation. The working group for the fight against street crime (EGS) was included as it was one of the "best performing units".
According to Goldgruber, the Federal Office for the Prevention of Corruption and Bribery (BAK), which is really responsible, could not be involved because of the draw. The question of whether he was correct was that he was to inform State Secretary Karoline Edtstadler (ÖVP) of the BAK's involvement, he said. But Goldgruber would have said, if it had been possible. The damage to the state's protection by the raid does not concern the highest officials anyway.

She had informed him "in a confused way" of the bad working environment and the alleged incompetence within BAT. We still do not know how Lett arrived at P. or how P. arrived at Lett. According to Lett, the former head of the BVT called him. P. herself stated in her interview that Lett had been contacted after receiving his number on Witness H. Then there was a conversation with Lett, Goldgruber and Kickl in the FPÖ's parliamentary club.
Lett also denied having lobbied the prosecutor. The Ministry of the Interior has not required any action to be taken. Lett reportedly lobbied home searches, arrests, and so on. The competent prosecutor, Ursula Schmudermayer, did not directly confirm it to the committee, but suggested that this was the case.

Lett also repeated what Goldgruber had already said in his investigation. The prosecutor said after the first hearing (Ursula-Ria P. on February 21, note) that she had a problem to settle in this case. It relies on units from the Department of the Interior, but can not access them because of an apparent pretext. "What do you want from BMI?", Lett asked the attorney. Goldgruber had already stated that the accusation had made him want to investigate but did not know exactly how. He then offered his support. But his statements convinced neither the opposition nor the ÖVP. Their faction leader, Werner Amon (ÖVP), saw a legion of contradictions between Goldgruber's statements and those of other informants.
