After the earthquake on the Indonesian holiday island of Lombok, more than 500 hikers are stranded on an active volcano. Affected are 560 tourists and mountain guides, said the head of Rinjani National Park, Sudiyono, Monday. They were therefore cut by landslides, including several Austrians. "The Indonesian authorities informed us that eight Austrians were registered as visitors to the national park," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Thomas Schnöll. The 6.4 magnitude earthquake occurred Sunday 50 kilometers northeast of the capital of Lombok, Mataram. At least 16 people were killed. After the first earthquake, there were two other major earthquakes and more than a hundred aftershocks.
