The state of emergency imposed in Turkey two years ago is over. It was not renewed and therefore ran out during the Thursday night (1:00 AM local time / 00:00 CET). The spokesman of AKP, Erdogan's ruling party, said on Wednesday that he would pay attention to "the balance between freedom and security". According to the draft, the law should initially be valid for three years after its entry into force.
