To build more off-road vehicles and pickup trucks, Ford plans to move hundreds of its workers to other factories. Neither jobs will be reduced nor created, said the second largest US automaker after General Motors.
In the US state of Michigan, where Ford's headquarters in Dearborn, 500 employees are to be transferred from one factory to another, nearby. Also in Kentucky, a similar transfer is planned accordingly. In addition, 150 workers at a Michigan plant will be offered new positions in other factories. The UAW Automobile Union was convinced that all concerned employees would be deployed in nearby factories.
