The village of Grieskirchen district has since yesterday been the youngest mayor in the country. Fabian Grüneis (ÖVP), aged 22, was elected mayor of Wolfgang Degeneve, who succeeded 52.39%. Andreas Aumayr of the Greens achieved a very presentable result with 39.71%.

The FPÖ did not meet expectations. The free candidate Gerhard Kaltseis received only 170 votes (7.9%). The participation rate was 73.13%, with 48 citizens of the market municipality having been declared disabled.

"I am very grateful for the trust that citizens place in me and humbly approach my new task," said Fabian Grüneis. 1128 Waizenkirchner and Waizenkirchner chose it because Aumayr voted for 855 municipal citizens. Already today, Grüneis is meeting for a breakfast with community agents and is starting the training period. "The ups and downs are a good climate at the municipal office," he said. He wants the same thing for political cooperation with the opposition. Grüneis congratulated Andreas Aumayr for his good result and offered his cooperation.

This announces a strong opposition policy. "I got the best result of a green candidate in the first round of an election at the town hall in Austria." If the FPÖ had not been so weak and l? ÖVP had voted, the second round would have been insufficient, "said Aumayr. He was a little disappointed. "The next three years, until the next municipal council election, will be an exciting time and we will take our oversight function very seriously," said the Green Party politician.

Liberal candidate Gerhard Kaltseis expects a better result. "I do not know why it was because maybe because of my work, I did not have enough time for the election campaign," Kaltseis said. But not everyone could win. He would not be discouraged by the result and would continue to engage in community politics.
