She surrendered an attack on her life in July. Today, Ukrainian anti-corruption activist Kateryna Gandsyuk has pbaded away.
Three months after an acid attack on Gandsjuk, a group on Facebook, regularly informing him of the state of health of the 33-year-old woman, announced his death in a hospital Sunday.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko confirmed his death. He called on the investigators to "do everything in their power to find the killers", "to be tried and punished," he said.
Gandsjuk worked as a consultant to the mayor of Kherson city in the south of the country. She criticized the security authorities and particularly condemned the corruption within the Ministry of the Regional Interior.

She has suffered severe acid burns on more than 30% of her body and has been treated in the hospital since then. In reality, their healing has progressed, as reported by the British broadcaster BBC. Now, she may be dead from a blood clot, reports the channel, citing local media.
As part of the investigation, according to the BBC, five alleged participants have already been arrested. According to the Ukrainian prosecutor's office in August, separatists in southern Ukraine are reported to be involved in the country's destabilizing crime.
After the announcement of Gandsjuk's death, a spontaneous mourning for the activist took place in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev. Hundreds of protesters went to the Ministry of the Interior and demanded that the act be fully settled.
