The ÖVP boss – laid-back in blue T-shirt and black hiking pants – has faced more than 600 vertical meters from the valley station to the cabins in an hour and a half – accompanied by countless conversations and photos.
The accompaniment of Hermann Schützenhöfer (ÖVP) was a bit short. The governor of the province of Styria arrived in blue jeans and a green polo at the station of the Schöcklbahn Valley. He also had hiking boots, but instead of his young "boss" of Vienna, he took the gondola. For the 2,500 hikers who pricked themselves to the chancellor, there were provisions on the way: a Jausensackerl with sausage or Käsesemmerl, a muesli bar, laces of apple and turquoise "Made in Austria". They were also a ticket for the gondola, for all those who did not think they could walk to the mountains.

Hikers make the run to the Schöckl in about an hour, but for the Chancellor's march, there was one or the other obstacle on a Labstation halfway. Apples and water were offered.
