An Acadiana veterans organization raised awareness on the mental health of veterans on Saturday.
The Acadiana Veteran Alliance hosted a “Cars and Coffee” event to raise funds in Lafayette.
They say 18 veterans kill themselves every day.
“Today, with the help of Scottie and all of the wonderful car owner participants here, we are able to fundraise for our local AVA’s healing program and get help. of our local veterans when it comes to the PTS, “said Millicenet Nugent, Executive Director of the Acadiana Veteran Alliance.
