The Sycamore Youth Center ran its first homeless awareness campaign on August 23 with the aim of providing care packages with essential items to those in need. Sycamore plans to organize an awareness campaign each new season, distributing items that will match the time of year and the weather. “For the fall campaign, we offered a tarpaulin with hygiene products as well as socks. explained Shaina Thornton, director of community outreach. “The winter campaign will contain a hat, hand warmers, socks, etc. “ she noted. The fall care kits have been delivered to the Friendship Room, Hutton House, and the Urban Mission. “It’s important that those in need know they are cared for and loved.
