The latest patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 makes Companions friendlier, dice rolls less deadly, and Cantrips less powerful.

The latest patch for Baldur Gate 3 is live and brings a number of changes to the game, including more sympathetic party members, easier time to pass large dice rolls, and weaker Cantrips.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is in Early Access and there is no denying that it is currently in an extremely buggy state. Developer Larian Studios has released fixes and fixes over the past couple of months, and the quality of the game has slowly improved. The latest patch is the first to change the game’s history, but you can’t use your old saves with the new content.

The new patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 is now available and brings a number of changes to the game. Larian founder Swen Vincke discussed the changes in a new community update video. He wasn’t wearing his signature armor, maybe because it’s at the dry cleaners? The patch’s biggest update is for party members. Fans have complained that they’re too negative and too picky about the protagonist, so they’re now more positive overall.

The fix also includes smaller updates. There are a number of skill checks in Baldur’s Gate 3 that can drastically change the story if you fail the test. These rolls were made easier to pass. The game will now provide experience points for solving problems without resorting to violence. This includes solving the Goblin Camp quest without embarking on a killing spree. You can now command everyone in your party to jump one by one without having to manually control them. Your group can now take two short breaks per long break. Three of the Cantrips (Acid Splash, Fire Bolt, and Ray of Frost) no longer create elemental surfaces when thrown, as this makes them overpowered. The user interface has been improved and it is possible to see / use the inspiration points. The UI also makes it easier to launch higher level versions of low level spells. Cross-save functionality is now active between Google Stadia, GOG, and Steam versions of the game.

It will be some time before Baldur’s Gate 3 is released in a finished state, but it’s clear that Larian is working hard on the game and taking fan feedback to heart. We can’t wait to see how the game improves in the future.
