OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was not discouraged from returning to the end zone, though he is still feeling the aftermath of his first high-flying NFL touchdown.
“I’m in a bit of pain,” Jackson said Wednesday, stretching both arms. “I didn’t mean to tell Coach [John Harbaugh] because the coach would probably be [have] told me something about the turnaround next time. I do not know; I would probably do it again though. “
Jackson then smiled and added, “That was pretty cool.”
In Sunday’s 36-35 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, Jackson punctuated the winning one-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter with a stunt aerial move. He did not hold the landing, however. Jackson admitted he fell hard on his back.
Harbaugh didn’t see Jackson’s festive acrobatics; he learned them later from his wife, Ingrid.
“Then I heard his hip hurt, and I was like, ‘I’m not surprised,’” Harbaugh said Monday.
Will Jackson be allowed to return in the future?
“As long as you hold the ball,” Harbaugh said. “As long as it results in a touchdown.”
