BANNOCK COUNTY, Idaho (KIFI) – Police officers in the state of Idaho are investigating a truck-train collision on Friday afternoon around 1:38 p.m. in the Thyee area of ​​Bannock County.

Fortunately, no one got hurt.

The truck was pulling an empty trailer and was traveling westbound on W. Tyhee Road when it collided with a northbound train on the tracks between N. Hiline Road and US 91. The impact with the train split the trailer in two.

The collision halted train travel and blocked vehicle traffic on Tyhee Road while emergency responders worked to investigate and assist those involved. The stage was cleaned at 3:00 p.m.

The soldiers were assisted on site by deputies from the Bannock County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver of the truck, a 22-year-old man from Blackfoot, was cited for failing to yield.

The incident is still under investigation by Idaho State Police.
