Baptist Health sets up vaccination clinics
Baptist Health Community Outreach will be running five Johnson & Johnson single dose covid-19 vaccination clinics at 10117 Kanis Road throughout September. Vaccines will be available from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on the following days: Tuesday (September 7); Thursday (September 9); Tuesday (Sept. 14); Thursday (September 16); and Tuesday (September 21).
People coming for vaccination must be 18 years of age or older and have photo identification.

Students vaccinated at AU approximately 69%
FAYETTEVILLE – About 69% of students at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, have received at least one dose of the covid-19 vaccine, the university said on Wednesday.
UA cited an update from the state’s Division of Higher Education in a statement listing 10,009 state resident students as at least partially vaccinated. A total of 8,236, or about 57%, of state resident students are considered fully immunized.
The university said no data was available for the vaccination rates of out-of-state students, who in recent years have made up about half of new UA entering classes. .
State health officials have said data on student vaccination rates does not take into account vaccinations done outside of Arkansas.

Vaccination clinics will be held during the games
Vaccines for covid-19 will be available during select high school football games today and Friday.
In-game vaccination clinics at multiple games each week are a joint effort of the partnership between the state ministries of health and education.
The clinics will be held at the Camden Fairview and Little Rock Parkview Magnet High home games today and at the home games at Wynne, Van Buren, Osceola and Prescott High Schools on Friday night.

Tinkerfest adjusts its activities for safety
The Museum of Discovery’s Tinkerfest will take additional action due to covid-19.
The September 18 event in Little Rock encourages innovation, exploration and discovery. Participants engage in dozens of activities, from using raw materials and tools to create unique machines, to launching rockets and exploring art. Activities include full-scale bridge construction, car teardown, drone demonstrations, and LEGO building challenges.
To avoid overcrowding situations, Tinkerfest activities will take place outdoors and a limited number of tickets will be available in two hour increments: 9 am to 11 am; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
“Tinkerfest is the biggest day of the year at the Museum of Discovery, and we are happy to present it at an outdoor-only and safe event with limited attendance,” Kelley Bass, CEO of the museum, said in a statement. Press.

Theater requiring a shot or test result
TheatreSquared of Fayetteville announced Wednesday that it is taking additional steps to help contain the spread of covid-19 during performances through October 31.
All clients will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated or the results of a negative antigen test performed within 72 hours of the date of performance.
Customers of the theater who are unable to comply with vaccination or testing requirements will be offered the option of streaming from their homes or requesting a refund until September 10 for all performances until next month.
Theater officials will review the covid-19 situation and decide whether to extend the measures until November.
