White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki condemned immigration activists who followed Senator Kyrsten Sinema, D-Arizona, from his classroom at Arizona State University to a bathroom, following President Biden’s claim that this was “part of the process.”
The activists called on Sinema, who teaches at ASU, to act on a “path to citizenship”.
While noting that the president believes that “the right to freedom of speech and to protest is sacred to our country,” Psaki insisted that Biden believes that “what happened to him crossed the line and was absolutely unacceptable – and downright false – to violate someone’s personal space in a bathroom. “

On Monday, Biden played down the incident.
“I don’t think these are appropriate tactics, but they happen to everyone,” Biden said.
“The only people this doesn’t happen to are the people who have the secret service around them,” he added, saying “it’s part of the process.”
Sinema’s office released a statement on Monday criticizing the behavior of activists for disrupting her class and disturbing ASU students who were in her class.
“Yesterday, several people disrupted my class at Arizona State University. After deceptively entering a locked and secure building, these people filmed and posted videos of my students without their permission, including footage taken from my students and I using the toilet, ”says Sinema.

According to Sinema, “the behavior of the activists was not a legitimate protest”, adding that “it is unacceptable that activist organizations ask their members to put themselves in danger by engaging in illegal activities such as entering buildings closed universities, disrupting learning environments and filming students in washrooms. “
