Ben Affleck and George Clooney reunited at the Los Angeles premiere of Tender Bar at the DGA Theater Complex this weekend.
The Oscar winners, who respectively starred in and directed the film, both played DC Comics’ Bruce Wayne / Batman and have a long-standing friendship and on Sunday they reunited in front of the cameras to unveil their new film.
The Tender Bar was the second male film collaboration after Ben’s 2012 directorial effort Argo, which George produced.

George, 60, certainly got to tickle his 49-year-old boyfriend’s funny bone as they caught up on the red carpet in cheerful style.
Affleck couldn’t help but laugh as Clooney joked in front of the state-of-the-art 600-seat cinema.
At one point, Ben grabbed his adorable 10-year-old young co-star Daniel Ranieri in his blue suit and white sneakers.
He smiled in glee as the Justice League action star held him upside down.

George chose Daniel to play the younger version of JR Moehringer, the author of the 2005 memoir on which The Tender Bar is based.
George stepped into the action, playfully grabbing Ranieri, who made a memorable appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! back in december.
The story follows the author through his early years in New York City as he searches for his father while getting close to his uncle and a group of locals at a nearby bar.
Development of The Tender Bar began in 2013 with Hidden Figures director Theodore Melfi set to helm the film before leaving the project.

After several years of struggles, Amazon Studios acquired the rights to the project in July 2020, with George confirmed to direct the feature in December.
Ben’s role was confirmed in February, with much of the rest of the cast added in March.
Ben previously collaborated on the 2012 film Argo, on which George was a producer.

Principal photography for the upcoming project began earlier this year at various locations in and around Boston.

George’s eighth directorial feature premieres January 7 on Amazon Prime Video.

The Way Back actor and his BFF Matt Damon co-starred, co-wrote and co-produced the period film, also starring Adam Driver and Jodie Comer.
