Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan will stop waiving COVID-19 care costs at midnight Thursday.

According to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, “We want you to stay focused on improving yourself. If you need treatment for the symptoms of COVID-19, we’ll cover the costs until September 30 *. For care unrelated to symptoms of COVID-19, regular benefits apply. “

It comes after Michigan’s Blue Cross Blue Shield extended COVID-19 care cost coverage on February 9. Co-payments, deductibles and coinsurance coverage for COVID-19 was originally scheduled to expire in March.

Priority Health will also stop waiving COVID-19 care costs at midnight Thursday.

As of midnight, Priority Health will no longer waive all co-payments, deductibles and coinsurance for COVID-19 treatment from network providers.

For both insurance companies, regular compensation for covid processing will apply.
