There was a manual on combating violence with the help of a smart home

At the end of June, the New York Times published papers on the use of smart home systems in family violence. It has turned out that such systems could be used as a "weapon" when one of the partners only makes another person crazy: remotely control lighting, temperature, and so on.

London researchers have prepared a manual for those who are a potential victim of a smart home (or rather, a person who manages its components). The document, as it is not hard to guess, addresses an English-speaking audience. It contains links to organizations fighting domestic violence and offers basic advice. The authors of the document intend to supplement it regularly.

The material itself from The New York Times looks like a story to a fantastic thriller or the next episode of the series "The Black Mirror". It tells stories of victims of domestic violence, according to which, the entire spectrum of smart home appliances has been used against them – bells, air conditioners and smart speakers to watch with video cameras.
