LPDDR5 has proven not only faster, but also more energy efficient than its predecessor: engineers have managed to reduce the voltage required for the job. There is also a new "deep sleep" mode, also designed to save battery power.
LPDDR5 is expected to debut in the company's future flagship product, the Galaxy S10 smartphone.
