The European organization Euro NCAP released the crash test results of the new Ford Focus and Volvo XC40. The tests, as in the case of the Nissan Leaf, were conducted according to a new and broader methodology. Both models had the highest score – five out of five stars. However, for the protection of the driver and the adult pbadenger XC40 received 37.2 points (97 percent of the maximum result), and Focus – 32.5 points or 85 percent. The record of Euro NCAP belongs to Alfa Romeo Giulia – 37.4 points or 98 percent.
Both models received 43 points or 87 percent for child protection. Additional points were awarded for the indication of the state of the front pbadenger airbag and the ease of installation of any type of child restraint.
