Apple will switch entirely to Intel modems in the new iPhone – this is reported by foreign resources. Earlier, the company used Qualcomm components, including, but now they will refuse them. This decision can have a negative impact on the speed of downloading iPhone data.
Qualcomm Finance's director, George Davis, said that Apple will "use the modems of its competitors in the next iPhone". He did not mention the name of the competing company, but it is obvious that it is Intel.
In previous years, Apple has been using modems from both manufacturers in the iPhone. The tests showed that in the same network, Qualcomm modems had a higher speed. The company even accused Apple of having artificially slowed modems so that there were no noticeable differences compared to copies with Intel solutions.
Apple will introduce the new iPhone early in the fall. It is expected two models with OLED-screens of 5.8 and 6.5 inches, as well as a version with a 6.1-inch LCD. According to the latest rumors, they will all be unframed, with a recognition system "monobrow" and Face ID
