The terrorist group "Islamic State" claimed responsibility for the attack against foreign tourists in Tajikistan on Sunday. This was reported Monday by the AFP agency referring to the SITE organization, monitoring the activities of extremists on the Internet.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan, Sunday around 15:30 local time, in the Dangara district of Khatlon region, a car with four people on a group of tourists of seven people on bicycle. Three tourists died on the spot, another died later in the hospital. The rest suffered minor damage. Among the dead, two American citizens, a Swiss national and a Dutch citizen.
Tajik law enforcement officials said they were considering different motives for intruders, including a terrorist attack. The country's Interior Ministry reported Monday that all the people wanted in the case of the attack against tourists have been liquidated.
