The Mogilev Regional Court sentenced 21-year-old Artem Kozlov to three years of restrictions on her freedom to incite national hatred and malicious hooliganism. His accomplice Pavel Seryogov, aged 20, was sentenced to a year and a half of restriction of liberty.
Kozlov was accused of having published a video on the social network VKontakte, which, according to the survey, calls for violent actions against different citizens on racial and national grounds. The video was posted to Kozlov 's account no later than 25 November 2013 and could be viewed until the police saw it on 15 January 2015.
A plot filmed in Russia shows scenes of brutal beatings by a group of young non-Slavic citizens and homeless "for the sake of future and white children". In the neighboring country, this video is included in the list of extremist documents.
In addition, Kozlov and Seryogov were accused of beating a gang, a malicious hooliganism.
On November 28, the Mogilev Regional Court convicted the accused of the crimes charged. Kozlov, who has been under arrest since 26 March 2018, has been sentenced to a restriction of his freedom and sent for three years to a penitentiary facility open to all. He was released in the courtroom and ordered not to leave. Each day of detention counts for two days of restraint of liberty. Thus, Kozlov has already served about 16 of the 36 months of the sentence.
Seryogov was sentenced to one year and six months of a similar sentence. At the time of the trial, he was committed in writing not to leave the premises.
The verdict has not yet entered into force.
